New Visuals for A Vital Southern California Organization

Southern California Hospice Foundation (SCHF) serves as the national model for improved access to hospice and palliative care. Established in 2002 to promote awareness of care options for terminally ill children and adults, the Foundation enhances the quality of life and well-being of patients nearing their end-of-life. Generous donations and compassionate efforts support essential community service programs that provide for patient needs outside the hospice benefit such as food, transportation, utility bills, and granting final wishes.

Growing Pains

To continue to expand their outreach opportunities, SCHF asked Echo to develop a new website and a vertically stacked version of their existing horizontal logo for use on social media and other platforms. The creative team was able to expand on The Foundation’s existing color preferences and assemble a comprehensive color palette to carry throughout all their visual components. Inspired by natural elements, the team created a mood board influenced by nature, beauty, and open space.

The existing SCHF website was hosted on an outdated platform with few user features and was not responsively designed. The Foundation wanted to put into place a more professional-looking, high-quality site that better reflected the values of the organization, and that they could easily maintain on their own.

Color, Content & Communication

Echo’s team began by researching design and integration needs for the new SCHF site. A mood board was developed to set the visual tone for the website. Our artist translated the elements from the mood board to communicate a sense of dignity using soothing colors in a carefully curated palette. The entire site also went through an extensive content audit, ensuring a consistent voice and messaging throughout.
